Frequently Asked Questions

On the main camera screen, swipe left or right across the model selector at the bottom of the screen to cycle through Classic M, D Classic, CCD R, and D Exp. Each model instantly applies its unique color tone, grain, and texture to your viewfinder in real time.
Switch to Video mode using the mode toggle on the main screen. The current film model's grain, color tone, and optional scan-line effects will be applied directly to your recording. You can adjust warmth and vignette before or after recording using the editing tools.
Snap Camera Mode is a fast-capture mode designed for spontaneous, candid photography. The shutter fires instantly with minimal delay — ideal for street photography and fleeting moments. Just point and tap; Retrocam applies your current film look in the background.
Tap the Edit icon after taking a photo (or before shooting, in live mode) to open the adjustment panel. From there you can fine-tune film grain intensity, light leak position and opacity, vignette strength, and halation (the glow around bright highlights that mimics real film emulsion).
Tap the Frame icon on the camera screen to select your aspect ratio: 2:3 for classic film portrait framing, 1:1 for a retro square format, or widescreen for cinematic looks. You can also enable film border overlays from this menu to make your photos look like physical prints.
All photos and videos captured with Retrocam are saved directly to your device's Camera Roll / Photos library. Retrocam does not upload, access, or store your media on any external server.
Camera access is required to capture photos and record videos with Retrocam's vintage film effects applied in real time. Microphone access is required to record audio when shooting video. You can manage these permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy → Camera / Microphone on your iPhone.
Retrocam Pro unlocks the full library of film models, filters, and advanced editing tools. You can subscribe directly inside the app — all payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store. We never have access to your payment card or billing details.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. You can cancel at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Select Retrocam Pro and tap Cancel Subscription. Your Pro access remains active until the end of the current billing period.
First, tap the Restore Purchases button inside the app (found in the subscription or settings screen). This re-syncs your purchase with the App Store. If the issue persists after restoring, please email us at support@vaykr.qzz.io and we'll get it resolved quickly.
